Call for Abstracts
The Organising committee of the 2nd Global Surgery Conference Malaysia 2025 invite academicians, researchers, healthcare professionals, and practitioners from diverse disciplines to submit abstracts focused on Global Surgery. Contributions from medical educators, nurses, and psychologists are encouraged as well as experiential narratives and case studies. Selected abstracts will be presented at the conference, with the top three awarded opportunities for oral presentations.

The presenting author will have to register for the conference for the abstract to be displayed/presented.

A maximum of TWO abstracts from one presenting author will be considered to ensure broad participation and exchange of views.

​Abstract & Poster submission deadline: 9th MAY 2025

The Scientific Committee will review each submission by 15th June 2025. Successful submissions will be notified for exhibition. The Top 3 submissions will be shortlisted for oral presentation.
ABSTRACT requirements​

All abstracts must be submitted in English, PDF file format.

A maximum number of words: 300, excluding titles, authors, and affiliations.

Graphics will not be accepted.​​

Title: Times New Roman, 12 points, UPPER CASE, Centered text in bold

Body: Times New Roman, 11 points; Line spacing: 1, one column of text
Authors
-
The number of co-authors is limited to 15.

The affiliation of the co-authors should contain the following: unit or section, department, name of the organisation, city, and country.
Content
Please, fill out the following sections:

Aim: description of the objective/aim of the research

Results: results of the research

Conclusion: brief conclusion
Poster requirements

Authors of selected abstracts will be notified regarding the submission of their posters.

Posters are expected to deliver a clear visual representation of the submitted abstract and must comply with the following criteria:​​​

Title

Shall be identical to that in the submitted abstract.​​
Size and Format

Posters must be formatted to A1 size and submitted in PDF format.
Lettering
-
At the top of the poster, please display the following information in 18-point bold Times New Roman: Title of Your Paper, Author(s) Name(s), and Affiliation(s).

Utilize a combination of upper and lower case letters for general content, as all capitalized text hinder readability. A font size of 14 in Times New Roman recommended for the poster's content.

Ensure there is adequate contrast between the text colour and the background.

All text and presentations shall be in English.

Specific sections (such as background, methods, results, and conclusion) should be clearly identifiable.

Maintain concise and readable text, with a clear message and logical layout.

Bullet points should be used rather than complete sentences for clarity.

Avoid the use of distracting watermarks.

Illustrations are vital for the poster and are likely to capture the audience’s attention; colourful charts and graphs are particularly effective. Use explanatory visuals in place of text feasible.

Maximize the use of space on your poster creatively to engage the audience, ensuring that images are easily interpretable.

All posters will be uploaded to the conference website prior to the event.
