Welcome Message
We are pleased to welcome you to the 1st Global Surgery Conference, which will be held at the Waterfront Hotel in Kuching, Sarawak, on 19–21 March 2023. The conference is being organised by the Society for Higher Surgical Education Sarawak General Hospital, the Sarawak Perfusion Society, the Society of Post-Graduate Obstetrics and Gynecology Sarawak, the Post-Graduate Orthopaedic Society Sarawak General Hospital, and the Ministry of Health Malaysia. Our conference's theme is "The New Dawn." The 1st Global Surgery Conference aims to create awareness of the concept, build a uniform understanding of how Malaysia is doing and serve as a platform for sharing best practices in various surgical fields. It is an inclusive opportunity for anyone who plays a vital role in providing surgical care. We have invited distinguished speakers to present and discuss scientific questions, achievements, issues, and challenges relevant to Global Surgery. We believe this conference will offers exciting plenaries, symposia, abstract and video presentations. In addition, we hope the conference provides an excellent venue for various learning experiences and opportunities to connect with colleagues, new friends, and biomedical industry partners.
We would like to thank the Scientific Committee, chaired by Dato' Dr. Jifre Bin Din, for the excellent academic programme developed to meet the various needs of the participants. We would also like to express our gratitude to the organising committee and secretariat for their suggestions, commitment, and hard work in making this conference run smoothly, and our appreciation to the biomedical industries for their unwavering support. Finally, we would like to thank all of you for attending this conference as our delegates.
